Bill of Rights: Auto Insurance

Texas law gives you certain rights regarding your automobile insurance.  OPIC has prepared a Consumer Bill of Rights for Personal Automobile Insurance, which provides a summary of various rights afforded to you by rule or state statute concerning personal automobile insurance. Please note that the Bill of Rights does not include all of your rights, nor does it list all exceptions to your rights.

Furthermore, this Bill of Rights does not address your duties or responsibilities as a policyholder. These are found in your insurance policy. Failure to meet the duties or responsibilities spelled out in your policy will affect your rights as a policyholder.
